Biffy Clyro "champing at the bit" to complete new album

Several months ago, Biffy Clyro announced that they had started working on their new album and have now confirmed that more than enough tracks have been written for it.

Speaking at last week's Kerrang! Awards ceremony, at which they won the Classic Songwriter prize, frontman Simon Neil opened up about the progress of the follow up to their '09 offering, 'Only Revolutions':

"We know what kind of album we're going to make. We know how it's going to play out, the structure of it."

He added that it's important for musicians to work constantly and for the Kilmarnock-based trio it's just a matter of "getting it done":

"It's just a case of getting it done. We're champing at the bit. Bands have to keep moving forward. Any band that sits for a few years not writing songs is in trouble."
