Biffy Clyro writing "odd" music for new album

Biffy Clyro look set to experiment on their follow-up to Mercury Prize nominated album 'Only Revolutions', revealing that they've been writing some 'odd' material.

The Scottish rock trio are currently in the throes of writing their next album after playing a slew of massive gigs and festivals since their last effort was released two years ago.

And, speaking to BBC 6 Music, frontman Simon Neil explained that their writing sessions have been producing some 'obscure' music. He said:

"We've got some really obscure things going on. We've got a kind of prog country song, which we never thought we'd do and some weird kind of math rock stuff meets almost goth rock."

"It's hard to explain just yet but there are moments that are odd."
