Fotocrime just dropped "The Rose and the Thorn," my favorite song off their forthcoming album Principle of Pain (out May 18 of Auxiliary Records), an infectious synth-driven post-punk anthem with a guitar line so hooky it overtook my five year old's addiction to "Born To Run" as the dominant theme song in our household. Stereogum describes it as "a fittingly nocturnal, smoky piece of darkwave, R singing over little unnerving synth coos and guitars that gleam in greyscale."

Fotocrime is Ryan Patterson from Coliseum's project, but it's nothing short of a complete reinvention. My band RLYR head out on tour with them later this week and I can't be more thrilled to watch this band every night (dates below). Let me know if you want to hear more.
