"Minimally produced and held together by the syrupy-warmth of Col3trane's vocals" - The FADER

"Some of the most intriguing, mercurial soundscapes coming out of London" - Highsnobiety

19-year-old vocalist, musician and rapper Col3trane today shares his highly-anticipated brand new mixtape BOOT, released via TaP Records / Geffen Records. The seven-track mixtape is available on all DSPs now and is available to listen here.

Col3trane teased his new BOOT mixtape last week with the release of his double video for mixtape tracks ''Fear & Loathing" and "Britney", directed by acclaimed director Oscar Hudson (Young Thug, Radiohead). The trippy, psychedelic visuals picked up plaudits from the likes of The FADER, Hypebeast, Highsnobiety, Trench, GRM Daily and more, firmly cementing Col3trane's reputation as one of Britain's most unique new talents. Nowhere is that more evident than on this new seven-track collection which effortlessly combines Cole's complex lyricism and astute songwriting into one of the most promising bodies of work this year.

Discussing the origins of the new project, Col3trane says, "BOOT stands for Breathing Out Of Time. Breath is one of the few things in life which is universal, that everyone can feel and relate to. Breathing out of time is talking about situations where your relationships with people change for better or for worse, and you feel like you've fallen away from the universal thing that connects everyone. Talking about heavy anxiety and stress... and how people decide to deal with that.... I wanna say this project is defo more introspective than the last."

In September, Col3trane will be taking BOOT on his first Australian tour which will include dates at Listen Out festivals across the country as well as headline shows in Melbourne and Sydney. Following those dates, Cole will be returning to Europe for a full UK & European tour with a homecoming London show at Village Underground on Monday 8th October. Full details can be found below with tickets available here.

At the end of 2017, Col3trane released his debut mixtape Tsarina which was described by Pigeons and Planes as "one of the best debut projects in recent years". Following a sold-out UK tour in February, the 19-year-old immediately began work on his expansive new project; the BOOT mixtape. Featuring production from Rogét Chahayed (Solange, Kendrick Lamar, Travis Scott), DJDS (Kanye, Charlotte Day Lewis), Nicky Davey (The Internet) and Cadenza (Jorja Smith), the mixtape builds on Cole's blueprint of emotionally intelligent lyricism, future-facing beats and genre elasticity. After spending some time writing and recording in LA, Cole eventually brought home those sessions to London to be finished by Cole and his long-term production partner J Moon. "I worked with some really great producers out in LA, then J and I finished tracks back in London. It's always important to me to spend that time making everything sound cohesive".

Born to American and Egyptian parents, Col3trane's musical upbringing was cross-cultural. Developing an instinct for rhythm and melody, Col3trane drew affiliations to various UK rap and hip-hop collectives across the UK and met collaborators including J Moon and Lauren Ralph, producers of his debut singles and mixtape. His appetite for collaborations also lead him to feature on singles for rising UK star Ebenezer and London producer SG Lewis.
