NYC art-rock icons Battles have shared two more songs from their forthcoming album Juice B Crypts , out October 18 on Warp. "A Loop So Nice..." and "They Played it Twice" is a one-two punch of interlocking micro-rhythms and mind warping hooks, the latter augmented by a commanding and soulful vocal performance by Xenia Rubiños. The songs were built around one keyboard loop, taken by the band and fleshed out into two distinct, yet connected, ideas. Songs that serve as opposite urges of where to go with the original concept; Cool and Hot.
