It's hard to imagine a more perfect pair of voices veteran musician and producer Robert Glasper could have recruited for this song than veteran Ndegeocello and relative newcomer H.E.R." - VARIETY

"("Better Than I Imagined") pairs Glasper's lilting piano with H.E.R's subdued, honeyed vocals. Soul icon Meshell Ndegeocello appears at the end, leaving what sounds like a heartfelt voicemail for a long-lost love."

"Better Than I Imagined" boasts HER and Ndegeocello's soaring harmonies over Glasper's impeccably dreamy instrumentation" - UPROXX

"'Better Than I Imagined' is part of this conversation, an ode to Black love that features H.E.R. and Meshell Ndegeocello. Led by that imperious musician, Robert Glasper is able to blend his open-ended creativity with two very distinct vocalists." - CLASH

"Pianist Robert Glasper has spent the past 10 years decorously disassembling whatever walls folk may imagine separate the romantic funk of modern R&B from the abstract truths and monster chops of modern jazz." - ROLLING STONE

Three-time Grammy-winning musician Robert Glasper has teamed up with 2021 Best New Artist Grammy-nominee Kaytranada to deliver a remix of the 2021 Grammy-nominated single, "Better Than I Imagined". The original version of the new track, a preview of Glasper's highly anticipated upcoming album Black Radio 3, features Grammy-winning R&B chanteuse H.E.R. and the 11-times Grammy-nominated artist Meshell Ndegeocello, and was recently Grammy-nominated for Best R&B Song. That's a favorable Grammy-winning combo if ever there was one - listen to the new remix below.

"Better Than I Imagined" is an ode to Black love that Glasper has expanded upon beyond the music and video, "No one wants a life without love, but we have generations of people in our community who haven't had the tools to actually be in healthy relationships. It seems like people are finally ready to open their eyes to systemic racism in this country, and if we're going to talk about it, we have to also talk about how it affects our relationships." Watch the video below.

Alongside the single nod, Glasper was also nominated for his 2019 surprise-release mixtape, Fuk Yo Feelings (Loma Vista Recordings), which came in advance of his unprecedented and now legendary residency at New York's Blue Note. Fuk Yo Feelings is the result of a 2-day session in which Glasper invited musician friends to stop by the studio and organically create together, the final result being this mixtape which sonically documents the lost art of improv and on the spot collaborations that can only come from authentic relationships and true artistry. Glasper's sound can hardly be defined but is built on his unique blend of jazz, hip-hop and neo-soul. F*ck Yo Feelings is an inspired update in that lineage, blending the personalities of himself and his collaborators that include a top-tier range of standout artists across different scenes that only Glasper could put in the same room -Yasiin Bey, Herbie Hancock, Andra Day, YBN Cordae, Terrace Martin, Baby Rose, Bilal, Buddy, Denzel Curry, Mick Jenicks, SiR, Rapsody and more. The mixtape marked the first time Glasper reunited and recorded with Chris Dave (featured in Rolling Stone's "100 Greatest Drummers of all Time") and Derrick Hodge (bass) in nearly ten years since 2012's Black Radio, Glasper's unanimously celebrated album that took home the Grammy Award for Best R&B album in 2013.

Beyond Glasper's own releases from the past year, he's also had a major hand in other albums including Brittany Howard's Grammy-nominated album Jamie and his supergroup collaboration in Dinner Party, alongside bandmates Terrace Martin, Kamasi Washington, and 9th Wonder. Earlier this year, Dinner Party released their self-titled debut followed up soon thereafter by, Dinner Party: Dessert, reimagined versions of the tracks featuring Snoop Dogg, Cordae, Herbie Hancock, Buddy, Bilal, Tank and the Bangas, Punch and Rapsody, alongside newcomers Reuben Vincent, Malaya and Alex Isley, plus resident Dinner Party guest Phoelix. Their debut album, though a few years in the making, was a surprise Summer release and garnered nods from The New York Times, Rolling Stone, The FADER, Stereogum, Pitchfork, Essence, Hot New Hip Hop, Brooklyn Vegan, FLOOD, Uproxx, Complex and more. Robert Glasper was one of a few musicians selected to perform at this year's March On Washington alongside Derrick Hodge, Eryka Badu, and George Clinton. Tonight the Kennedy Center will air a performance and discussion from Robert Glasper and his Acoustic Trio with DJ Jahi Sundance, tickets to stream are available BELOW.

After a monumental year and nine Grammy nominations to date, Glasper's legacy speaks for itself. Stay tuned for more to come, including the eagerly-anticipated release of Black Radio 3 in 2021. "Better Than I Imagined" and F*ck Yo Feelings are out now on Loma Vista Recordings.
