Tonight, multi-platinum global superstar Justin Timberlake returned to his hometown of Memphis, TN, bringing along GRAMMY-nominated artist Ant Clemons for an inspiring and all-new rendition of their song "Better Days," at the iconic Stax Museum of American Soul Music as part of the primetime broadcast special, "Celebrating America," in honor of the inauguration of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. The pair also invited students and alumni of Stax Music Academy, music education and youth development program, to perform alongside them with a band led by Emmy nominated musical director Adam Blackstone who provided the live production and arrangement for the new version of the song. As an added bonus for fans, the duo is releasing a remastered inauguration version of the song featuring music legend and 16-time GRAMMY winner Kirk Franklin, who offers an inspirational message to "Better Days ft Justin Timberlake (Inauguration version w/ Kirk Franklin)" (A. Ant Clemons' name has already been cemented in music history with his contributions towards 2020 and most notably, his Grammy nomination for Best R&B Album for debut EP, Happy 2 Be Here. Enlisting the likes of Timbaland, Ty Dolla $ign and Pharrell, the 8-track EP is full of truth and spirit, adding a fresh perspective to the R&B landscape. No stranger to hustle, Clemons moved across the country from New Jersey to Los Angeles only a couple of years ago in pursuit of his dream career. He began 2018 by writing a song a day in exchange for a floor to sleep on and by June, he landed himself a feature as the iconic voice behind Kanye West's hit single, "All Mine" from Ye and found himself atop the Billboard charts. This relationship with West led to further collaboration on Jesus Is King where he landed features on "Water" and "Everything We Need" and performed alongside the rapper during his 2019 headlining Coachella performance. Clemons is also recognized as one of the most in-demand songwriters, with recent writing credits for Beyonce, SZA, Ty Dolla $ign, Camilla Cabello, G Eazy, Pharrell, Kanye West, H.E.R., Cordae and Timbaland. Ant Clemons has had a meteoric rise, in juxtaposition to what has unequivocally been our most challenging year to date; succinctly put, Clemons is the quintessential definition of the 21st century "success" story.
