ATARASHII GAKKO!, the Japanese four-piece, who recently joined 88rising, return with a new song, "Freaks," featuring Jakarta rapper Warren Hue. A classic song reimagined for 2021, “Freaks” samples Dirtybird Records label boss Claude VonSroke's "Freaks Don't Fail Me Now”. The song gets a fresh makeover featuring ATARASHII GAKKO!’s signature vocals and Warren Hue’s rhythmic rap. Delivered with punkish energy, ATARASHII GAKKO!’s Mizyu, Suzuka, Kanon and Rin deliver supercharged snapshots of the Japanese Youth or Seishun in their native language. Singing rebelliously "making paper planes out of exam papers", the girls of ATARASHII GAKKO! sing about how they overcome the mundane school life, and ultimately, "hope, future depends on yourselves" -- success is not determined by letter grades.

The group recently released their debut 88Rising track "NAINAINAI," accompanied by a self-choreographed video. Watch BELOW.

“Freaks” is also the debut 88rising appearance from new signing Warren Hue, the 18-year-old Jakarta native who is paving the way for a next-generation of Asian hip-hop. Warren chimes in his defiant attitude, proclaiming himself as freaky but also the "freshest one" who will be "walking down the fashion runway".
