Adult Swim Singles has shared a new song by Chicago-based artist, producer, experimentalist, and DJ The Twilite Tone as the thirty-second entry in the 2021 program. “Open House (The Clearing House)” is a thematic prelude to his next project, following recent turns lending production to Kanye West’s Donda (notably including fan favorite “Life of the Party”) and his 2020 debut solo album The Clearing — a mixture of house, electronic funk, and instrumental hip-hop informed by the musical history and spirit of his home town. During “Open House” Tone says, “There is no tomorrow and yesterday don’t exist. All we have is Now… The Clearing House.” With The Clearing House, Tone has galvanized a community of artists/musicians to take the highly personal themes of The Clearing and invited them to reinterpret them into a communal present space.
