Adult Swim Singles has shared a new composition by Mexico City-based multimedia artist and producer Tristan Arp as the thirty-fourth entry in the 2021 program. “Migration” is an unreleased piece from the same sessions that produced his recent Sculpturegardening album, a set of material that pairs cello performances with modular synthesis yielding a collection of generative music inspired by gardening and acoustic textures inspired by sculpture

“Freedom of movement is a privilege afforded to relatively few creatures on this planet,” states Trsitan Arp. “This piece is dedicated to every living thing that has the courage to uproot itself (not by choice, but for survival and a decent life) and to those who can’t. It’s in our genetic code to be on the move and this rubs up against the constraints of reality and our more recent adaptation to settle in one place. It’s an ongoing process to be mindful of these roots and see where they point us. Thousands of years of evolution can’t undo them (!)”

Adult Swim is the leader in adult animation and #1 destination for young adults for over fifteen years, offering critically-acclaimed, award-winning original and acquired series such as Rick and Morty, Genndy Tartakovsky’s Primal, The Eric Andre Show, Three Busy Debras, Tuca & Bertie, and Joe Pera Talks With You. Fan favorite anime block, Toonami, airs on Saturday nights and has expanded beyond acquisitions, producing original series including Fena: Pirate Princess, Blade Runner: Black Lotus, Shenmue the Animation, Uzuamki, and new seasons of FLCL. The annual Adult Swim Festival reaches a global audience, and features performances by top musicians and comedians. Adult Swim airs nightly from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. (ET/PT) on its linear channel, and also reaches fans via HBO Max.
