Blink-182's Tom DeLonge to release festive children's book

Tom DeLonge, of Blink-182 fame, has written a children's book for the upcoming holiday season, entitled 'The Lonely Astronaut On Christmas Eve'.

The official press release describes the book as a "wistful story for the young and the young-at-heart alike", and the narrative itself is a "tale of a rocketeer alone on the moon on a cold Christmas night, and the gift he receives from a few unexpected (and extraterrestrial) friends."

Pre-orders for the book, including a special digital edition along with a clear acrylic etched ornament and limited edition T-shirt, will open on November 25 and a three-page preview is now available for members of the Angels & Airwaves fan site.

The pop-punk superstar, who is a father of two, collaborated with illustrator Mike Henry on the exciting project. In addition to releasing the book to the public, DeLonge will be holding an auction and proceeds raised from the sales of 22 pages of original art from the book along with a signed guitar will be donated to the San Diego's Rady Children's Hospital.
