Bloc Party working on new album

The Bloc Party hiatus is over, according to guitarist and founding member Russell Lissack, who says he and Kele Okereke are working together again.

“We're having a bit of a break until the festivals are over, because people have commitments during the summer,” he tells ‘NME.’ “But we're going to get back properly in September and sit in a rehearsal studio to work on new band material."

Bloc Party have been on an official break since October 31, 2009, during which Okereke released his critically-acclaimed solo debut, and the other band members worked on side projects.

Last month Lissack revealed that he has at least seven songs already written for the new record.

“I've written maybe seven or eight songs intended for Bloc Party, but they're at such an early stage there's not much point in describing them, as things tend to change a lot,” he told ‘Neader’s Jukebox.’
