Bloc Party announce indefinite hiatus

Bloc Party have announced the second indefinite hiatus of their career.

The London quartet, who previously took a three-year break to concentrate on various solo projects back in 2009, will now go their separate ways again once they’ve completed all their summer festival dates.

Speaking to the National Post, guitarist Russell Lissack admitted that the band have no concrete plans following their current run of shows:

"Definitely after we finish the festivals in the summer we'll be taking some time off. At least six months, maybe a year maybe two years, it's hard to say.

"Once we start taking time off people start doing their own thing. So once people start doing things then you'll start naturally extending how long we spend apart."

However, the indie-rock outfit, who returned to the spotlight last August with the 'Four' LP, will still release a new E.P. ahead of their final festival date at Latitude on July 19.
