Alex James says cheese is delaying the Blur reunion

Blur member Alex James has quietened band reunion rumours after revealing on live television that both cheese and his children are taking priority in his life at the moment.

The musician, who lives on a working farm in the Cotswolds, told TV chef Gino D'Acampo on Let's Do Lunch with Gino and Mel that other commitments are currently more important and Blur is taking a back seat although the guys are back in contact:

"The Blur Boys? I'm seeing them all next month. We're all friends again now. Yeah, I really don't know what's going to happen there, I'm sure it will happen again one day, but I've given birth to nine cheeses this year, not to mention [raising] five children."

A recent interview in the Financial Times also showcased James' growing passion for cheese as he said, "in Chipping Norton, I don’t get asked whether Blur’s getting back together again, now it’s ‘what’s your next cheese?'"

James' 'Little Wallop', a goat's cheese wrapped in a vine leaf and soaked in cider brandy, won at the British Cheese Awards in 2008.

The bassist's cheese range entitled 'Alex James Presents' is now available at ASDA supermarkets as of yesterday (August 22).
