BMG songwriter Lewis Capaldi has reached another milestone in his music career with his single ‘Before You Go’ hitting Number One on both the Billboard Pop Songs and Radio Songs charts, making it the most popular song on US mainstream radio (chart week dated September 26). After 37 weeks on the Pop Songs chart, having debuted on the chart the week of January 18, the song also makes history as the longest climb to the top since the chart began in 1992.

‘Before You Go’ follows Capaldi’s breakthrough hit ‘Someone You Loved’, which also topped both the Billboard Pop Songs and Radio Songs charts for three weeks October-November 2019. ‘Someone You Loved’ topped the UK Singles Chart where it remained for seven weeks, and in November 2019, reached Number One on the Billboard Hot 100. The song would go on to be nominated at the 2020 Grammy Awards for Song of the Year and won the 2020 Brit Award for Song of the Year.
