BMG artists and songwriters recently scored a record-high 17 nominations for the 2021 JUNO Awards. The JUNO’s, Canada's music awards, organized by the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, are celebrating their 50th annual awards show, to be held virtually in May 2021 amid the pandemic.

Following an unprecedented year, the JUNO Awards will serve as a beacon of hope for Canada and the music industry at large. The 2021 JUNO Awards will be broadcast nationwide Sunday, May 16 at 5 pm PT/8 pm ET on CBC TV, CBC Gem, CBC Radio One, CBC Music, and globally on CBCMusic.ca/junos. This year, The JUNO Awards will return to Toronto after a decade, marking the 26th time that the city will host Canada’s most iconic celebration of music.

Leading the field this year, on the heels of the release of her debut solo album, Before Love Came To Kill Us, rising global star and BMG songwriter Jessie Reyez received five nominations including Artist of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Contemporary R&B Recording of the Year and two nominations in Music Video of the Year. Following the release of his debut solo album, Pity Party, breakout BMG recording artist Curtis Waters received three nominations including JUNO Fan Choice, Breakthrough Artist of the Year, and Alternative Album of the Year.

Additionally, BMG songwriter NAV scored two nominations including JUNO Fan Choice and Rap Recording of the Year, while multiple BMG artists and songwriters notched nominations across genres including The Glorious Sons, Lindsay Ell, Rufus Wainwright, and JJ Wilde.

In celebration of Canada’s rich and diverse music history, the JUNO Awards will take place at several of the most iconic musical landmarks from across the country, including Toronto. A full list of other locations will be released ahead of The JUNO Awards Broadcast, which will be presented to an at-home-only audience.
