Club Tenco has revealed the nominations for this year’s Targa Tenco Awards with BMG songwriters and artists scoring nominations in three out of six categories.

The nominees for Interprete di Canzoni (Singing Performer) include one of the greatest interpreters of Italian pop music, Ornella Vanoni. The singer is nominated for her latest album Unica, released by BMG.

Francesco Guccini and Mauro Pagani are nominated in the category Miglior Progetto Collettivo (Best Collective Project) for Note Di Viaggio Vol 2 – Non Vi Succederà Niente, released by BMG.

BMG artist and songwriter client Francesco Bianconi scored a nomination in the category Miglior Opera Prima (Best Debut Album) for Forever.

Both Ornella Vanoni and Francesco Guccini are among the most award-winning artists in the history of Tenco: Vanoni won a Targa Tenco Award in 1987. Guccini has been awarded four times. In 2020, he received an award for Note Di Viaggio - Capitolo 1: Venite Avanti..., the first part of the two-volumes project.

Additionally, Vanoni and Guccini are the only two artists who received two Premio Tenco Awards (Lifetime Award).

Founded in 1974 and held every year since in Sanremo, Targa Tenco is one of the most prestigious events in Italy celebrating Italian singer-songwriters. The Awards are presented by a jury of more than 300 experts and representatives of the music industry. The winners will be announced on July 5.
