Nashville’s annual awards week recently culminated with the 55th annual County Music Association Awards (CMA Awards) on November 10. The show airing live from Nashville on ABC featured several BMG recording artists and songwriter both winning awards, presenting and performing live before a national television audience.

Nominated for a second year running, BMG recording artist Jimmie Allen won for New Artist of the Year. Allen performed his song ‘Freedom Was a Highway’ from his 2020 collaboration project Bettie James. The acclaimed song peaked at number 11 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart, marking his third Top 20 single behind two previous Number Ones. Earlier this year, Allen was also presented with the New Male Artist of the Year at the 2021 Academy of Country Music Awards. He was previously nominated for CMA New Artist of the Year in 2020.

Critically-acclaimed BMG songwriter Carly Pearce won Female Vocalist of the Year behind the success of her most recent album 29: Written In Stone, also nominated for Album of the Year, as well as her performances behind the hit singles the Gold-certified ‘Next Girl’ and ‘Never Wanted To Be That Girl’.

BMG recording artist Jason Aldean also performed his newest duet, ‘If I Didn’t Love You’, with Carrie Underwood. Together, the duo performed it live for the first time, as the first single from Aldean's upcoming tenth studio album Macon, is set for release on November 12, 2021, via BBR Music Group. The song recently rose to Number One on the US Billboard Country Airplay chart, becoming his 24th Number One single on the chart.

BBR recording artist Lainey Wilson also presented an award and performed the country staple ‘Strawberry Wine’ with country superstar Deana Carter.

In addition, ‘The Good Ones’, co-penned by BMG songwriters Emily Landis and Jim McCormick, received nominations for Single of the Year and Song of the Year.
