Composer, producer, and virtuosic musician Nils Frahm has released his expansive new album, Music For Animals via LEITER/BMG.

Music For Animals is Frahm's first fresh studio material since 2018’s All Melody and 2019’s associated All Encores, and his first full-length album of brand-new music for LEITER, the label he co-founded with his manager, Felix Grimm.

Containing ten tracks and clocking in at over three hours long, it’s an ambitious and compelling set different from anything Frahm’s has released to date, in fact, it finds the Piano Day founder declining to use a piano, but at the same time retains many of the qualities that have set the influential musician’s work apart over much of the last two decades.

Recorded between 2020 and 2022 at Frahm’s studio in Berlin’s Funkhaus complex, Music For Animals will be released as a 3CD and 4LP set, as well as via all DSPs.

Proceeding the album’s release Frahm released three singles ‘Right Right Right’, ‘Lemon Day’ and the 27-minute epic ‘Briefly’.

Music For Animals is a product of the pandemic and of long, lonely hours spent in Frahm’s East Berlin studio. “Nothing was happening,” said Frahm, “and I felt like this was a special time which needed a special kind of music.”

Nils Frahm is set to head out on tour in promotion of the album throughout the rest of 2022 and into 2023. Frahm kicks off the European leg of the tour with 5 straight nights at Berlin’s Funkhaus.
