Pop megastar Britney Spears won the Favourite Social Media Celebrity title at last night's People's Choice Awards in Los Angeles, but was unable to attend the ceremony. 

The 'Piece Of Me' sensation took to her Twitter page and confessed that she planned on going to the Microsoft Theatre, but fell ill before the event began and had to miss out:

"I wish I could have been at the People's Choice Awards tonight but I started feeling sick. Thank you so much for voting for me for Favourite Social Media Celebrity! This is dedicated to my fans, the Britney Army – without you this would not be possible. I love that I can share my world with you and that you are so supportive of me. Remember to be kind online and spread love. #ThankYou!"

Spears, meanwhile, recently won the Best Fandom category in Pressparty's End of 2015 readers' poll with a massive 60% of the votes, which amounted to over 3,300 clicks.
