Just 12 hours after the official release of Britney Spears' new track it has already broken a record.

Within a few hours, the single 'Hold It Against Me' had reached number 1 on the U.S iTunes and had broken the record for getting more radio airplay on its day of release than any other track. 

In addition to this, '70's duo The Bellamy Brothers have spoken out about the song's similarity to their 1979 hit 'If I Said You Had A Beautiful Body, Would You Hold It Against Me?'. 

The duo said:

"When I did listen to her song, I thought, ‘Well, this is rather unoriginal."

"It was a big old record for us,”

“The line has been used in movies and stuff, but for us, the song was a No. 1 hit. It was Record of the Year in England. We still play it about 180 times a year at our shows on the road.”
