Pop superstar Britney Spears has revealed that she may treat X Factor USA fans to a live performance during the show at some point.

The singer is currently working as a judge on the popular programme and explained to Extra! that plans might be made for her to step behind the microphone on stage before the series is over:

"Maybe so. Something could be in the works. We don't know!"

Meanwhile, the 'Till The World Ends' songstress took to her official Twitter page earlier this week and sent out a message of hope to her fans on the east coast ahead of hurricane Sandy's destructive arrival:

"Sending love to the East Coast! Hope u all are staying safe & dry - keeping u in my prayers. Xxoo"
