Britney Spears has thanked her fans for their support after the release of her new single.

The pop princess has unleashed her comeback track 'Work Bitch' as she sets the wheels in motion for her next album release.

However, the song was leaked online a day early in an unmastered form, with Spears tweeting at the time: "Woke up today and saw that a low quality version of Work Bitch had leaked :(."

The track has since been released officially and the singer said on Twitter: "I am truly overwhelmed and so grateful for all of your support. The Britney Army is amazing. I may have teared up a little.... I <3 you."

She later added: "Have more big news coming Tues morning...make sure you're watching @GMA! You definitely aren't going to want to miss this."
