Britney Spears' upcoming Las Vegas residency is proving incredibly popular, according to her rep.

The pop princess recently announced a two-year deal with Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, which will see her perform around 50 shows a year.

It will all kick off on December 27 and a rep for Spears told TMZ that it is the "best-selling show in the history of Las Vegas".

The celebrity website added that a total of 73,600 tickets went up for sale for her first batch of dates, with only 3,358 remaining.

Spears meanwhile is due to release her untitled new album on December 3.
