Grammy award-winning singer-songwriter Bruno Mars is the latest name to be added to the impressive list of performers at this year's MTV VMAs. 

The 'Grenade' hitmaker will wow the ceremony's audience with a live set on August 28 in Los Angeles and Amy Doyle, executive producer of the VMAs, spoke of her excitement at the new addition to the bill:

"We're thrilled to have Bruno Mars bring his exceptional talent to the VMA stage. He is one of the most exciting live performers today, and with his artistic versatility, he will undoubtedly deliver a standout performance."

Mars recently won the titles of Music Breakout Artist and Summer Music Star at the Teen Choice Awards and revealed to fans on social networking site Twitter (August 8) that he will begin recording new music this week.
