Calvin Harris not on new Rihanna album due to deadline

Calvin Harris has revealed that he won't feature on Rihanna's upcoming new album because he didn't have enough time to write material.

The pair worked together in 2011 on the smash hit track 'We Found Love' and the Scottish DJ told BBC Newsbeat that she asked him to contribute to her new album 'Unapologetic', which is due for a November 19 release.

However, it seems Harris would only have had two days to conjure something up - a time scale too tight for the '18 Months' star. He said:

"Rihanna's been recording her next album and I saw her and she said, 'You have to do something for my album! We need you'."

He continued: "Then you're like, 'No, I need to do this'. So then you go into the studio and you're like, 'I need to sit here and I've got two days to make probably one of the best records that I'll ever make in my life'. Obviously I didn't do anything, so I'm not on the record. I did a decent tune, but you can't work under that kind of pressure. I can't anyway."
