Calvin Harris and Alesso top UK singles chart with 'Under Control'

Scottish DJ Calvin Harris has hit the spot once again as his latest single ‘Under Control’ has debuted at No. 1 on the UK singles chart.

‘Under Control’ sees Harris collaborating with Swedish DJ and producer Alesso as well as Hurts singer Theo Hutchcraft.

Calvin Harris has had previous No. 1 singles with ‘Sweet Nothing’ featuring Florence Welch in October 2012 and 2009’s ‘I’m Not Alone’.

As a featured artist Harris has also enjoyed a further two chart-toppers in the form of ‘Dance Wiv Me’ alongside Dizzee Rascal and Rihanna’s ‘We Found Love’.

The rest of this week’s top five is made up by Gary Barlow at No. 2 with ‘Let Me Go’, One Direction up seven places to No. 3 with ‘Story Of My Life’, last week’s best-selling single from Lily Allen with her cover of Keane’s ‘Somewhere Only We Know’ now at No. 4 and Bastille’s ‘Of The Night’ has dropped three spots to No. 5.

New entries to this week’s chart include McFly at No. 6 with ‘Love On The Radio’, ‘Everything You Never Had (We Had It All)’ by Breach featuring Andreya Triana at No. 9, and Afrojack and Spree Wilson are new in at No. 17 with 'The Spark'.

One Direction have two new entries in the chart as ‘You & I’ sits at No. 19 and ‘Don’t Forget Where You Belong’ at No. 21. Justin Bieber’s lastest release ‘Roller Coaster’ has entered the chart at No. 37.

Jessie J has achieved this week’s highest climber with ‘Thunder’ storming 40 places up the chart to reach No. 40.
