Cee Lo Green has blasted ‘American Idol’ and ‘The X Factor’ saying the shows are over.

The ‘Forget You’ singer told ‘The Hollywood Reporter’ that he was offered a judging role on ‘X Factor’ USA but turned it down in favour of NBC’s ‘The Voice.’

"I knew the name and I knew the parties involved, but as an enterprise, I didn't know what made it distinctive enough. Quite honestly, I felt like 'American Idol' and these other entities had run their course," he said.

‘The Voice,’ a vocal performance competition in which the judges initially hear but don’t see the contestants, premieres this autumn with Cee Lo, Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton as coaches.
