The "We Survived" event is an event that is set in a safe group setting providing survivors a platform to connect and share stories in order to assist with the healing from experiencing abuse. As survivors we are often told what we should have and could have done to save ourselves from abuse. Often times the ripple effect that remain from the abuse is shared among survivors. By joining together we can begin to heal by sharing and caring. Using music as a therapeutic tool during this event we will listen to the songs that helped us to cope and overcome the times that we were sometimes at our lowest points and also the songs that made us smile. By the end of this event we will confront our different levels abuse and find ways together to let go of our pain.

New Jersey native that relocated to Atlanta, GA to escape abuse after she survived a childhood filled with the trauma of sexual assault and abuse. Savannah hit the ground running upon her arrival in Georgia as she quickly began focusing on how to improve her circumstances and future. She graduated from Georgia Perimeter College despite being 8 months pregnant at the while being beaten daily by her lover and father of her baby to be. She recited the powerful phase coined by Maya Angelou “Still I Rise” multiple times daily to remind herself to keep going strong. The invitation to participate as a contributing author for an Anthology coordinated by Pioneering Beauty Founder, Ellice Darien, "Grey Skies Over Darkness" she knew this her chance to finally break her silence and tell her story. The was a life changing defining moment in her life. She is a proud mother of 2, Entrepreneur, Atlanta Radio Host where she uses her platform to only advocate for domestic violence survivors both women and men alike, but also for the deaf as a sign language interpreter and deaf community spokesperson.
