Charlotte Church becomes latest musician to reject Trump invite

Charlotte Church is the latest musician to publicly turn down an invitation to perform at Donald Trump's inauguration ceremony.

The singer took to Twitter on Tuesday (January 10) to confirm that she was asked to play for the US president elect when he is sworn into office on February 20. However, she rejected the offer.

Church tweeted Trump directly: "Your staff have asked me to sing at your inauguration, a simple Internet search would show I think you're a tyrant. Bye."

On Tuesday Pressparty revealed that fellow British singer Rebecca Ferguson had turned down an offer to perform at the event after initially offering a compromise that would have seen her sing the racism protest song 'Strange Fruit'.

Moby also revealed that he had been asked to DJ at one of Trump's inauguration balls, but he said he would only perform if the businessman released his controversial tax returns.
