Cheryl Cole has taken to Instagram to set the record straight about her love life.

The music star's singleness was called into question recently after being spotted with two different men.

It seems, however, that some sections of the media believed the man to be the same person, which further irked Cole.

She posted on Instagram that the two men are friends, blasting the "nuts" journalists who wrote stories about them.

The singer said: "Seeing a lot of fabricated stories on this...One a great friend the other a married man...Do they look alike to you ?? I mean these ppl are nuts ! @joelcompass last week.. Who's next? Roll up, roll up!.. To the fictional writers #shouldvegonetospecsavers #thatisall. Have a nice day peeps."

One of the men in question was personal trainer Steve Uria.

Cole meanwhile is due to line up beside Simon Cowell once again on the UK X Factor this coming year.
