Cheryl's husband Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini has backed the singer after she came under fire for her weight.

The couple married recently after a whirlwind romance and Fernandez-Versini stepped in on Instagram after Cheryl was criticised for being too thin.

He wrote: "She is the most beautiful woman on the planet and she wants to share it. #sharingiscaring No seriously she is. And I can tell you something else she really care about her fans and touched by all your support. Now for the hater please continue talking #wasteofenergy.

“I wish I had so much time hating and waste energy. Must mean you have (sic).”

Cheryl's X Factor colleague Simon Cowell meanwhile recently gave his thoughts on the singer's romance, saying on Twitter:

"Cheryl is the happiest I have ever seen her. Her new husband is a great guy."
