Cheryl confirmed to switch on Oxford Street's Christmas lights

'Promise This' beauty Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, née Cole, has been confirmed to switch on London's iconic Oxford Street Christmas lights this year.

The songstress and 'X Factor' judge will head into central London on November 6 for the annual festive event and the switch-on is set to be hosted by the street's John Lewis department store.

The deputy CEO of event organiser the New West End Company, Jace Tyrrell, said in a statement: "The Oxford Street Christmas lights are famous worldwide and the switch-on event is the most eagerly anticipated event of the year."

Performances at the ceremony will come from the likes of 'Me and My Broken Heart' hitmakers Rixton and vocalist Jess Glynne. Cheryl, meanwhile, is gearing up to release her highly anticipated new album, which is called 'Only Human', on November 10
