Cheryl Cole has taken to social networking site Twitter to reveal her disappointment with the recent "lies" that suggest she had a secret relationship with MC Harvey. 

The former So Solid Crew member and the 'Promise This' star had a heated - and very public - war of words recently and he accused her of trying to hide the fact that they shared a romance back in 2010.

A spokesperson from Now magazine, in which the original interview where Harvey spoke about the dalliance was published, has also claimed:

"We completely and wholeheartedly stand by our exclusive and refute any accusation that it contains untruths."

This morning, February 7, Cole wrote on Twitter: "I don't know when I became so naïve but even after 10 yrs in this industry i am still shocked that people will tell soul destroying lies to benefit themselves #sadbuttrue"
