Cheryl Cole scores third solo UK number one single

Cheryl Cole has today scored her third solo UK chart-topper with ‘Call My Name.’

The first single from her third album, ‘A Million Lights,’ sold over 150,000 copies to debut at the top spot, more than twice as many as Flo Rida’s ‘Whistle’ at number two.

Last week’s number one from Gary Barlow & The Commonwealth Band dropped to No.3, just ahead of Coldplay & Rihanna’s ‘Princess Of China’ and Rudimental's 'Feel The Love,' while Precision Tunes’ cover version of 'Payphone' entered at No.9 on the same day the Maroon 5 original was released.

Elsewhere, there were new entries for Trey Songz's 'Heart Attack' (No.28), Justin Bieber’s ‘As Long As You Love Me’ (No.30), Katy Perry's 'Wide Awake' (No.31) and Kelly Clarkson's 'Dark Side' (No.40), while Tyler James became The Voice’s first contestant to reach the Top 40 after the show, with his rendition of Steve Winwood’s ‘Higher Love’ charting at No.39.
