The 'Call My Name' singer topped the poll, which was answered by some 2,000 women devised for the people behind BBC lesbian drama Lip Service.

She beat off competition from actress Angelina Jolie, who came in at No.2 on the list.

Kate Middleton meanwhile landed at No.3 on the list whilst music star Rihanna was named at No.4.

It is yet another accolade for Cheryl, who landed a UK No.1 single on Sunday (June 17) with her new release 'Call My Name'.

The singer shot straight to the top of the chart as her solo career enjoys another revival.
