Cheryl has thrown her weight behind the idea of turning her band Girls Aloud into a musical.

Spice Girls have undergone similar treatment, with the musical Viva Forever in production.

Speaking to Digital Spy, Cheryl said that the idea of a Girls Aloud musical is "amazing" but she admitted she couldn't really see herself on stage performing. She said:

"That would be amazing! That would be funny. I can't imagine myself...Kimberley [Walsh] would be amazing because she's a theatre veteran now."

She continued: "It would be pretty amazing that someone could play those parts in the theatre. That would really be a compliment, I think."
