Cheryl Cole has teamed up with Coronation Street for the Text Santa charity appeal.

The singer has filmed a cameo for the iconic UK soap to raise funds for six charities picked by the ITV campaign.

Her storyline is said to revolve around the 'Call My Name' lady hitting the street to find her childhood friend Tina, who is played by Michelle Keegan.

She was pictured on the set alongside the actress, joining the cast for a group photo in the Rovers Return too.

The six charities meanwhile due to benefit from ITV's Text Santa campaign are Age UK, Barnardo's, BeatBullying, British Heart Foundation, CLIC Sargent and Help the Hospices.

Shane McGowan from The Pogues meanwhile is also due to feature on a Christmas episode of Coronation Street, whilst fellow soap Emmerdale will also join in on the Text Santa fun.
