A rep for Chris Brown has dismissed suggestion that the singer assaulted a man at a basketball game in Las Vegas.

Police have confirmed that the US star is suspected of being involved in the beating of a man on Saturday night (May 2).

The incident is alleged to have taken place on a basketball court at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas.

Police have given Brown the option to sign a misdemeanour battery citation, which agrees that he will appear in court or face prosecution.

However, a rep for the singer said that he was not involved in any fight, despite being in Las Vegas at the time.

They said: "Chris is currently in Las Vegas. He has a suite at the hotel that has a basketball court and invited friends to come play.

"An unruly individual showed up uninvited and was removed from the premises. Chris was not in an altercation with this person."
