Chris Brown "victim of a brutal attack", says spokesman

Chris Brown's spokesman has said that the singer was a "victim of a brutal attack" during a recent night out at a New York club.

Gossip began to circulate on the story after Brown posted online a photo of himself with a cut chin, intimating that he was hit with a bottle.

According to Reuters, Brown's spokesman has claimed that his client was involved in a "brutal attack" along with his girlfriend - with police now investigating the alleged incident. He said:

"Chris, Karrueche (Brown's girlfriend) and his friends were victims of a brutal attack last night at WIP. They sustained several injuries. Chris and his party are cooperating with NY authorities who are pursuing this incident further."

Reports that fellow music star Drake was involved in the incident have been shot down by his spokeswoman, who said that Drake "did not participate in any wrongdoing of any kind last night at W.i.P. He was on his way out of the club when the altercation began. He did not engage in any activity which resulted in injury to person or damage to property."
