LLOYD COLE NEW SINGLE 'WOMEN'S STUDIES' RELEASED ON OCT 21st PLUS SOLO UK SHOWSLloyd Cole will release a new single ‘Women’s Studies’ on 21st Oct ’13 on Tapete Records. Taken from his gloriously electric new album ‘Standards’, ‘Women’s Studies’ is written and produced by Lloyd Cole and performed by him with his band which features Fred Maher on drums and Matthew Sweet on bass and backing vocals, Joan (As Police Woman) Wasser on piano, Mark Schwaber and LC on guitars. Says Lloyd: “I recall watching Jools Holland interviewing Miles Davis on The Tube. Miles was in amazing form but he didn’t want to talk about music but about his paintings, all of which seemed to be of his wife, from behind. So I took the phrase ‘Women’s Studies’, maybe inspired my Miles, and I just had fun with it... and along the way I was able to mine some authentic memories of when I was young and occasionally debauched.” Lloyd will tour solo in October playing songs from ‘Standards’ as well as a number of nuggets from his extensive back catalogue.
