Chris Martin admits Coldplay "could not have asked for a more dreamy job."

Chris Martin has acknowledged that Coldplay haven't always been the trendiest of groups.

The band, who are currently No.1 in the UK with their new album 'Ghost Stories', are one of the country's leading acts.

However, frontman Martin told BBC Radio 1 that his band seem to enjoy big success without being 'cool' or 'fashionable'.

He said: "We have never been the coolest thing or the most fashionable thing. Well, maybe for a period. It just feels like we're able to keep rolling and no-one really notices. I feel like every day we're given is a real blessing. I could not have asked for a more dreamy job."

The musician, who split from long-term wife Gwyneth Paltrow earlier this year, added about his band's new record:

"What 'Ghost Stories' means to me is you've got to open yourself up to love. And if you really do, of course it will be painful, but then it will be great."
