Chris Martin does Carpool Karaoke with James Corden

The Late Late Show with James Corden have released the show's Carpool Karaoke with Coldplay's Chris Martin today (February 3).

In the sketch Martin hitches a ride with Corden to San Francisco to perform with Coldplay in the Super Bowl 50 halftime show.

Martin tells Corden that he understands the rules of American football and explains them to him during the ride but in the end they end up preferring to sing Coldplay's first hit, 'Yellow' rather than discuss the intricate details of a game they obviously don't know much about.

Singing harmonies together, the chemistry of the two friends is evident throughout the 15 minute sketch. Martin admits to being inspired by Bruce Springsteen and treats Corden to a Mick Jagger impersonation complete with big lips and vibrato speaking voice.

Martin pulls out a map to help navigate. The twosome pick up driving snacks along the way and don woolly hats to complete the drive. They also buy two lemonades from a stall set up outside a house. The drinks are so full of sugar that Martin says he has the energy to 'punch an elephant'.

Among the many songs the two perform is a rendition of David Bowie's 'Heros with a backing track from a portable keyboard.

The two stop off at a motel and Corden slips into bed with Martin. The two spoon whilst singing 'Fix You'. The next morning the car has been stolen so they finish their journey on a tandem bicycle.
