Coldplay pay tribute to the recently disbanded R.E.M.

Coldplay have paid tribute to R.E.M. during a recent concert and performed a cover of the band's iconic hit 'Everybody Hurts'.

The Georgia-based rockers announced last week that they had finally decided to call it a day and Coldplay told their audience at the Music Midtown festival (September 24) that it was only appropriate to honour them with a special song. Chris Martin said:

"One of our favourite bands of all time, R.E.M., for some crazy reason have finished and it's sad. So with the most respect in the world, this is just to show how much they meant to us."
