Chris Martin has jokingly labelled himself the "nasty Christmas Grinch".

The Coldplay frontman admits fellow band members Will Champion and Guy Berryman put a lot more thought into their festive gifts, while he doesn't make a great amount of effort.

The British star has even likened his attitude towards the holiday to the famously ill-tempered film character played by Jim Carrey.

According to The Sun Martin quipped: "I guess I'm like the nasty green Christmas Grinch. Sometimes I'll see something I think people would like and buy it regardless of birthdays or Christmas."

Martin recently spoke about his penchant for overlooking Christmas gifts in an interview with the Kyle and Jackie O Radio show, revealing: "Will and Guy are very, very good and they always give us lovely presents and Jonny [Buckland] and I are not very good. It’s kind of sad!”
