Coldplay partner with Oxfam to combat land grabs

'Fix You' hitmakers Coldplay have teamed up with the charitable organisation Oxfam in order to help combat land grabs, which are when banks, individuals or governments buy huge plots of land in poor countries for profit.

In turn, the people of those areas then lose their homes or livelihoods and Coldplay have called for fans to submit video clips that will be used to accompany an acoustic version of their track 'In My Place' for the campaign.

Footage needs to be submitted to the band by March 20 and their long-time collaborator and director Mat Whitecross is confirmed to work on the final cut of the video. The only rules for the clips are as follows:

"People are being asked to move something favourite, personal or familiar from their home to somewhere it doesn’t belong. Alternatively, they could do something personal, everyday, familiar that they’d usually do at home, in totally the wrong place."
