Dappy: 'I can be mature now I've gone solo'

Dappy feels a new sense of freedom now that he's launched his solo career and feels able to "be the mature person I always wanted to be".

The 'No Regrets' chart-topper told the Daily Star that now he's away from the group he can broaden his appeal and steer away from the association of having a strictly young or teenage fan base:

"People have this image of me from N-Dubz that we’re just for youngsters, but now I can be the mature person I always wanted to be."

“There’s so much good competition – Wretch, Tinie, Example – that the only way to stay on top is being honest and being the best I can. That’s why the single went down so well.”
