David Bowie memorial concert in NYC to be live streamed for charity

This Friday (April 1) is set to be a special day in New York city, for The Music of David Bowie memorial concert is scheduled to go ahead at New York's Radio City Music Hall.

The concert will be live streamed in exchange for donations to charity, and the promoters have teamed up with Skype especially for the event.

Twenty artists are due to perform, including:

  • Miley Cyrus
  • The Pixies
  • Blondie
  • Cat Power
  • Michael Stipe
  • Jakob Dylan
  • Rickie Lee Jones
  • Sean Lennon
  • Mumford & sons

Bowie producer, Tony Visconti will also appear.

A similar show will take place at Carnegie Hall in Manhattan the day before (March 31).

The minimum charitable donation is £15 ($20). All of the money donated will go to various music and art charities in the US.

One of Friday's guests, Michael Stipe, performed a David Bowie song on The Jimmy Fallon Show last night (March 29).
