David Bowie considered doing intimate 'Blackstar' tour

David Bowie's artwork designer has revealed that the singer considered doing an intimate tour for his last album 'Blackstar'.

The musician passed away aged 69 in January last year after a secret battle with cancer, just days after releasing the record. However, Bowie had rarely played live since suffering a heart attack while performing in Europe in 2004.

Speaking to NME, designer Jonathan Barnbrook said he encouraged Bowie to take his 'Blackstar' album out on the road - and it seems the Brit was warming to the idea. He said:

"I asked him as I always did, 'are you going to do a tour?' The first thing he said, which was ridiculous, was 'I'm not much of a performer, you know?'.

"I said, 'I beg to differ, David! But this album is quite intimate - you could do a few small shows' - then he said, 'Oh, maybe I could'. So you never know - maybe he was going to do something with 'Blackstar'."
