David Bowie to be honored with Royal Mail commemorative stamps

Late music icon David Bowie will be honoured by the Royal Mail this spring as a series of commemorative stamps are being released to celebrate his life and career.

They will be sold from March 14 and there will be a total of 10 different designs, ranging from album covers to tours. The record covers featured include 'Let’s Dance', 'Aladdin Sane', 'Hunky Dory', 'Heroes', 'Earthling' and 'Blackstar'.

Philip Parker of Royal Mail said: "For five decades David Bowie was at the forefront of contemporary culture, and has influenced successive generations of musicians, artists, designers and writers. Royal Mail’s stamp issue celebrates this unique figure and some of his many celebrated personas."

Fans will be able to pre-order presentation packs of the stamps from the Royal Mail's official website and prices range from 30p for a 'First Day' envelope to £79.99 for a David Bowie Framed 'Heroes' Stamp & Print set.
